What else kills the Filipinos

This is the question many have answered. But what does really kills the Pinoys? Poverty? Lack of Education? Corruption? What else?

These answers, I believe, are mere consequences of a deeply rooted trait that has sunk into our nerves - yours and mine my fellows - for generations.  It is the "Kanya-kanya" (similar to "You're on your own") mentality.

The truth hurts. I have met and heard may Filipinos working or have migrated to other countries who said - "Bakit kayo ganyan?!!!". As if we here in the mainland are different from them in blood.  If you think about it, Filipinos who look down on other Filipinos from afar are worse than rotten maggots. Why? Because they have decided to stay out of the problem instead of being country-loving citizen, which I bet they project be, and help solve it.  This is my message to them: "Can you do a Jose Rizal?".  With all your knowledge or even wealth, can you go back to your country and help make a difference? Can you actually help solve these problems instead of being a part of it? Can you make the idiots you look down to the people you wish they can turn into? If not - then SHUT UP!

I have so many - and I mean MANY - things I hate about our countrymen to the point that it simply makes me laugh because I TOO AM FILIPINO.  The only luxury and fortune I have is I was properly educated, properly raised by my parents and I can eat three times a day and do things many of my fellow citizens do not share. Those probably were what prevented me from turning out to be like them. I bet, it too was the same recipe that made YOU turn out to be who you are today.

Yes, you may throw me that question: "So, how do you make a difference?".  I am going to give you MY examples not to boast but maybe to show you a way to help.

To the very least, I have been employed by companies. In my capacity, I have helped developed people to reach levels in the organization they never dreamed of. I do not mean fresh graduates from exclusive schools. What I mean are people who were mere high school graduates that I turned into Quality Assurance people, production recorders , inventory clerks and the list goes on. People who never thought of using software and management systems in computers who turned out to be trainers later on. If not for my effort and for the trust and confidence given to me by well-meaning managers I reported to, they would have still been on the production lines doing the same things they have done for their who life and earning almost the same as well.  I put up a business that was able to employ people who were able to be molded to better citizens through the culture and habits I and my relatives have enforced. And these efforts goes on and it may sound or look modest but at least these were solid efforts to uplift the well-being of my fellow citizens. What is sweet about these were I saw them share their experiences and have given the same opportunities to others as well.

I am stating these not to boast but to hopefully open our minds that we all are part of this rotten society we despise so well if we do not do anything to improve it - even to the micro-level.  A mere seed can turn into a big and sturdy mango tree that can provide good harvests and withstand strong typhoons in the years to come. When will YOU plant that seed?

Can't you see it? It is the Filipino who kills the Filipino! Do you think that those idiots, lazy people, immoral citizens who sold their souls to the corrupt politician will ever care to read a blog like this? Hell no!!! Stop badmouthing and start doing something that would effectively send your message to the masses and make them be better people! And when you have done your share, maybe, just maybe, you have earned the right to folly the funny things that your fellows do or say.

Use the internet as Jose Rizal used his pen and go walk the earth towards the Philippines without even having to die like Rizal did!!!! For Heaven and the Philippines' sake - Put up or Shut up!
